hmmm
Well, I haven’t posted in a while. I guess I’ll just kind of link to some things that I’ve found significant.
Outside the Box Plan to Save the Hubble Telescope - Thank goodness they’ve come up with something. I hope this plan goes through.
It’s Official: IBM Out of the PC Business - Well, I guess I’ll never be getting a Thinkpad. Now I don’t know where I’ll turn to for my next notebook. Maybe Lenovo will continue to sell Thinkpads of comparable quality.
I’ve found myself reading Penny Arcade very frequently lately. The guys there are obviously pretty smart, besides being funny. I’ve no need to visit sites like IGN any more, since these guys give me all the videogame news I need.
I’m also a member at Red vs. Blue, which I enjoy quite a bit. They’re kind of forging a new kind of site at RvB/RT/Strangerhood, which combines a typical community (a forum) with a networking site (like Friendster) and a blog site. It’s really a pretty cool combination. And of course the videos are hilarious. I’m currently a sponsor, and I feel it’s worth it.
I’ve discovered a lot of people at TheFacebook lately. They’ve added a ton of schools. I signed up back when there were only like 20 schools, now there’s probably a couple hundred, which is kind of cool, although it was also kind of cool when it was limited to just the “elite” schools. It’s gotten much slower now, and maybe half the time I’ll have to reload the page because the DB times out or something.
I hate those stupid AOL ads. I appreciate the NetZero ads for making fun of them (it’s great to do a side-by-side comparison of each bit), but for some reason I don’t find them as funny as they really should be.
